Software Engineer

We're looking for a full-time on-site web developer to help build the next generation of our smart grid and smart home web based applications.

The ideal candidate will be excited to work with a small team where everyone's input and contributions are valued. The individual should be creative, hard-working, and willing to tackle challenges, with a strong desire to build intuitive and beautiful applications. Our projects are very challenging and exciting. The team member will work closely with the CEO and COO of the company, and directly oversee development of our software as a service product, supporting smart grid and advanced metering infrastructure and consumer based energy management.

General Summary

This position is responsible for the design and development of our smart grid and smart home web applications.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Write and Maintain the front end code of our web applications.
  • Prototype, build and style web pages.
  • Design and implement client-server architecture to enable complex data flows between various devices and servers in ecoNet ecosystem.
  • Positively contribute to the overall design and development of products in collaboration with a dedicated team of professionals.
  • Participate in high level and low level design of the integration with embedded frameworks.
  • Contribute in developing reusable standards and libraries with other developers.
  • Work in a small team environment to track open issues, and close them on priority basis.
  • Adhere to project schedules and effectively report progress to meet challenging deadlines.
  • Contribute in developing reusable standards and libraries with other developers .

Job Specifications/Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience developing software for high-traffic web sites.
  • Experience with server side technologies such as PHP, JSP or ASP.
  • Experience developing database driven web applications using a mainstream RDBMS such as Oracle or MySQL.
  • Proficient with client side technologies such as JavaScript, AJAX.
  • Good understanding of hardware and software for real time embedded systems.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux development environments.
  • Experience with Java, WAP, mobile applications, web services or programming interfaces.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Subversion or CVS.
  • Ability to operate in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
