Sr. Field Application Engineer.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer who is self motivated and able to take assignments and drive to completion.

A background in the energy or smart grid field is a big advantage. It is essential that the candidate will be exceptionally knowledgeable in the networking field with the ability to work under constant pressure. You must be comfortable with designing and implementing networks and managing various installations. You will prepare and deliver training presentations, be closely involved with technology evaluations as well provide bi-directional feedback. You will take responsibility for the ultimate client technical satisfaction. The role is a leadership position and the position requires travelling approximately 50% of the time.

Qualifications

• Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in sales/systems engineering roles with strong technical and presentation skills as well as the ability to present complex ideas and concepts clearly.
• Have a track record with products and/or services that require longer term consultative engagements
• Self-directed, highly motivated, and able to exercise independent judgment
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field

Potential candidates should have an In-depth practical knowledge of :

• LAN/WAN networked systems
• TCP/IP (ipv4 and ipv6) & SNMP protocols
• IP Routing, Network security & VPN’s
• LINUX & Windows operating systems
• RF/Wireless networking – WiFi, Wireless, WiMAX, Zigbee, etc
• Three tier application architectures
• NMS / Network based polling systems
• Knowledge of Metering, SCADA protocols a big plus
